Andy with a another beautiful Sandy river Winter Steelhead.  This was one of 5 for him on this day.

Many fishermen feel that pound for pound Steelhead are the hardest fighting fish there is. I agree with them. To me there is no better time to be on the water then winter. Yes, some of the days in the winter are cold so dress warm, but many like the one in the picture above are sunny and very pleasant.

Winter Steelhead are a hard fighting fish with many acrobatic jumps which will keep you on your toes. When you go fishing with me I will show you how to catch these wonderful fish. Whether we are drift fishing, jig fishing, side drifting or pulling plugs on a local river, you are sure to have "Quality Fishing Adventures."

December through April is prime Winter Steelhead time. Come fish one of our beautiful small rivers with me for these chrome beauties. Fighting one weighing from 6 to 20 lbs. is a thrill you won't forget. We fish out of our 23 foot motor boat. My favorite style to use to target Winter Steelhead is called side drifting. We use a very light action rod for this with light gear which makes these fish really put up a fight.

Here is Mike with a nice Columbia river summer Steelhead.

Summer Steelhead fishing in the small tributary rivers around Portland is good from March through June, the same time as spring Chinook Salmon. The summer Steelhead fishery on the Columbia river is good in July and August, the same time as the summer Chinook Salmon run. Needless to say you really never know whether you will have a Chinook Salmon or a Steelhead when your rod goes down while fishing for Summer Steelhead and spring and summer Chinook Salmon.

Summer Steelhead are great fish for those just starting out as well as the seasoned anglers. The thrill of catching these exciting, hard-hitting fish is enough to get anyone's blood pumping. When the rod bows, and the reel starts singing, you are sure to have a smile on your face. Come get to know these great fish with me, and you will have a memory to last a lifetime.
